  • Gambhir dispatched Sreesanth for a six and a four
  • He kept calling me 'fixer, fixer': Sresanth
  • India Capitals managed a 12-run victory

A thrilling eliminator in the Legends League Cricket between Gujarat Giants and India Capitals resulted in some drama off the field as well. It started when former Indian batsman Gambhir dispatched former Indian bowler Sreesanth consecutively for a six and a four during India Capitals. A heated exchange of words occurred between the two although it is unclear who started it. Later on the conflict escalated when Sreeshanth was fielding in the inner circle close to where Gambhir was stationed in the non striker’s end.

Sreesanth later took to Instagram to provide his version of the event. “He kept on calling me, on live television, on the centre of the pitch... I did not use a single bad word. I kept on saying 'What are you saying? What are you saying?". In fact, I kept laughing in a sarcastic way because he kept calling me 'fixer, fixer'. Forgive my language but he said 'Fuck off fixer'. This is the language which he used on live TV. In fact, he used the same language when the umpires tried to control him. In fact, I moved away, but he kept repeating the same thing,’ he stated in a video.

Gambir made a post on X captioned, “Smile when the world is all about attention!” which has been interpreted as a sly dig at Sreesanth. It is indeed difficult to keep the two figures out of controversy.
