In an alarming repeat of tragedy, the Jayanagar area of Bengaluru witnessed two deadly accidents caused by falling trees at the same spot. Residents are deeply concerned over the safety hazards posed by weakened trees, which have claimed one life and left another victim fighting for survival.

Six months ago, a tree fell on a moving auto-rickshaw in Jayanagar's 16th T Cross, near the B.E.S. College, instantly killing the auto driver. In a chilling coincidence, another tree at the very same spot fell on a two-wheeler rider this past Sunday. The victim is now in critical condition, undergoing surgeries on both legs and battling for life in the hospital.

Just ten days ago, yet another incident occurred on a nearby road, when a large tree collapsed onto an auto-rickshaw, causing significant damage but sparing lives. Despite numerous complaints and calls for the removal of dangerous trees, BBMP and the Forest Department have shown negligence. The authorities’ failure to act has now led to a formal FIR being filed against them.

Jayanagar residents are demanding immediate action to remove hazardous trees and improve public safety. The pattern of repeated accidents highlights the urgent need for preventive measures before more lives are lost or injured.
