With the Lok Sabha elections just a few months away, former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has decided to play the Hindutva card in a robust manner.
NewsFirst Prime learns that he is mulling taking the Datta Peeta vows in the month of December, which as per plans, would be a great pawn to placate Hindu sentiments.
These vows will be ordained by a priest of the Baba the Datta Peeta in Chikkamagaluru. It is also learnt that newly crowned BJP state chief and former CM BS Yediyurappa’s son BY Vijayendra will also throw his weight behind this move of HDK.
In this regard, HDK is in talks with Chikkamagaluru JDS leaders. As per sources, these leaders have already held talks with people concerned in this regard.
JD(S) joins hands with BJP
A few months ago, the JD(S) joined hands with the BJP in Karnataka. As per the probable seat-sharing formula, JD(S) will contest 4 seats while BJP will contest the remaining. Karnataka has 28 Lok Sabha seats.
