In a major counterterrorism operation, five high-profile terrorists were killed in a precise Indian airstrike under Operation Sindoor, launched on the night of May 7 in retaliation for the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
According to sources in the central government, the airstrike targeted terrorist camps across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Among those neutralized are three operatives from the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and two from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) – both groups responsible for several deadly attacks in India.

The Jaish terrorists killed in the operation have been identified as Hafiz Mohammad Jamil, Mohammad Hassan, and Mohammad Yusuf, while the slain LeT terrorists include Mudassir Qadian and Khalid, also known by the alias Abu Aqsa. All five were classified as high-value targets by Indian intelligence agencies and had been on the most-wanted list for years.
Government officials hailed the success of the operation as a “strong and strategic response” to cross-border terrorism. While specific operational details remain classified, sources indicate that the mission was executed with precision and zero casualties on the Indian side.
The strike marks a significant escalation in India’s counterterror efforts and sends a clear message regarding its stance on cross-border terrorism. Security agencies remain on high alert for any retaliatory moves following the strike.
