The Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector has witnessed a significant boost in hiring intent for freshers, climbing to 32% in the second half of 2024 from 27% in the year’s first half. This insight comes from the TeamLease EdTech Career Outlook Report, which analyzed trends from July to December 2024.

FMCG companies are focusing on fresh graduates skilled in market insights, retail distribution, and regional consumer behavior, especially as the sector expands into previously untapped areas. The report highlights high demand for specific roles, with hiring intent for food engineers reaching 41% in Bengaluru and logistics coordinators at 39% in Delhi.

To meet the sector’s requirements, freshers are advised to enhance their qualifications with certifications like Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Logistics Associate (CLA), brand management, digital marketing, and logistics and supply chain management. These certifications provide the technical expertise needed in supply chain, inventory, and logistics management, alongside essential soft skills like adaptability and effective communication.

The rise in hiring aligns with the FMCG sector’s efforts to cater to diverse regional markets, driving innovation and operational efficiency. This trend not only creates promising career opportunities for freshers but also underscores the sector’s growing emphasis on tailored consumer strategies and robust supply chain networks.
