Former Goa MLA Lavoo Mamledar (69) lost his life in a shocking incident outside Srinivas Lodge in Khadebazar, Belagavi, following an altercation with an auto-rickshaw driver. The tragic event unfolded when Mamledar’s car reportedly made slight contact with the auto near Khadebazar, leading to a heated argument.

As tensions escalated, the auto driver attacked Mamledar in front of the lodge. Despite being injured, Mamledar managed to climb the stairs towards his room inside the lodge but suddenly collapsed before reaching it. CCTV footage from the lodge captured the entire sequence of events.
Mamledar, a former MLA from the Ponda constituency in Goa, was in Belagavi when the attack took place. Witnesses reported that he struggled to reach safety before succumbing to his injuries. Authorities were alerted immediately, and Market police arrived at the scene to take the accused into custody.
The incident has sparked concern and outrage, raising questions about safety and public altercations turning violent. An investigation is underway to ascertain the full details and circumstances leading to Mamledar’s death. Meanwhile, law enforcement officials have urged the public to maintain peace as legal proceedings against the accused continue.
