In a shocking incident, former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was found murdered at his Bengaluru residence, with multiple stab wounds to his stomach and neck. According to sources, his son Kartik alleged that his mother, Pallavi, who had been struggling with severe mental health issues, was responsible for the killing.

Family members revealed that Pallavi had long been battling schizophrenia and often experienced delusions, anxiety, and baseless fears. She reportedly expressed frequent concerns that her husband might harm her and even accused him of threatening her with a firearm on multiple occasions. Her deteriorating mental condition had been going on for 12 years, during which she was receiving medical treatment.
Based on Kartik's complaint, the police registered a case against Pallavi and her daughter Kruti. Both were detained for questioning by the police on Sunday. The Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, confirmed that the retired officer was discovered in a pool of blood and had sustained multiple stab wounds. He further stated that the police received information about the crime around 4:30 pm and that a sharp weapon was likely used, resulting in fatal blood loss. Initial investigations point toward a domestic dispute as the probable cause of the tragic incident.
