Islamic Information Center (IIC), an NGO, will be offering a free six-month spoken English course to Islamic scholars to connect them with youth in urban areas.

Zuhed Khan, the president of IIC said that many Islamic scholars were finding difficulty in communicating on religious matters with youth living in cities due to poor knowledge on their spoken English language skills.

This course is aimed at imparting spoken English language skills in Islamic students to enable them to understand and communicate effectively on religious matters.

The idea behind imparting this course is also to prevent the youth from Islamic community from falling prey to extremist organisations.

Over 25 scholars have already taken up this course and many are yet to take up this course in the coming days.

Most of these scholars are from madrasas and masjids located at DJ Halli, Shivajinagar and other areas in Bengaluru.

Over 50 scholars and many other scholars from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have also evinced their interest in taking up this course.

Merchants and businessmen from their community are also being encouraged to take up this course. IIC is also considering to start this course online if there is good response to this course in their community.
