According to police reports, the pub allowed smoking in non-designated areas, violating public safety norms. On May 29, the police conducted a raid at One8 Commune and registered a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR). Now, with the court’s permission, an FIR has been filed against the pub’s manager and staff. This isn’t the first time One8 Commune has faced legal trouble. In July 2023, police had registered a case against the pub for allegedly operating beyond the permitted hours.
The current FIR highlights recurring issues at the establishment and has reignited discussions about compliance with legal and safety regulations in Bengaluru’s nightlife scene. Officials indicate that further investigations are underway, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
This case not only puts the spotlight on Kohli’s pub but also raises questions about the enforcement of public safety norms in popular establishments across the city. The police's proactive approach sends a message about the seriousness of adhering to legal requirements.
