In a world where opulence often defines success, H L Nagaraju, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Mandya has chosen an entirely different path. He has shocked the public with his decision to resign from his prestigious government position and embrace monastic life. Nagaraju, a KAS officer known for his efficiency and dedication, has decided to step away from his role, despite having worked tirelessly to attain it.

Nagaraju’s journey to government service was marked by hard work and sacrifice. A native of Honnenahalli village in Tumkur district, he had always dreamt of a government job. After completing his MA in Economics and PhD in Microfinance, Nagaraju entered the KAS ranks and served in various roles, including as the Tahsildar of K.R. Peta, Nagamangala, and Hassan. His commitment to his work earned him respect and recognition, especially during his tenure as ADC in Mandya.

However, Nagaraju's story took a spiritual turn. Thirteen years ago, in 2011, he had briefly embraced monastic life under the guidance of Adichunchanagiri Math in Nagamangala, changing his name to Nischalanandanath Swamiji. After a brief return to his administrative duties, Nagaraju had set his sights on continuing his spiritual journey. He has now decided to formally resign from his position as ADC and reinitiate himself into monasticism, under the mentorship of Chandrashekaranath Swamiji of the Vokkaligara Maha Sansthan Math.

His decision has garnered mixed reactions, with many expressing surprise at his choice despite his successful career. Mandya District In-charge Minister Cheluvarayaswamy acknowledged Nagaraju's decision as a personal matter and stated that he would be granted leave for the transition. The public remains curious about Nagaraju’s motivations for stepping away from a promising career to follow a spiritual path.
