Yaseen Shan Muhammed’s path to becoming a civil judge at 29 is a remarkable tale of perseverance and determination. Born into hardship, his father abandoned the family when Yaseen was just three years old. His young mother, barely 19, took on the responsibility of raising him, his younger brother, and their grandmother, eking out a living by selling milk. Despite securing a government-provided house, financial struggles defined their lives.

Yaseen began working at 16, juggling various jobs including newspaper delivery, milk supply, stonemasonry, and food delivery, all while pursuing his education. Studying with second-hand books and wearing hand-me-downs, he completed Class 12 and earned a diploma in electronics before working briefly in Gujarat. Returning home, he pursued a public administration degree, during which he discovered the state law entrance exam. Securing admission to the Government Law College in Ernakulam, he balanced studies with late-night food delivery jobs.

Graduating in law, Yaseen enrolled as an advocate in 2023 and worked under a senior lawyer. Despite initial setbacks, his determination led him to achieve second rank in the Kerala Judicial Services Examination in 2024. Overcoming financial hardship, academic struggles, and language barriers, Yaseen’s journey exemplifies the power of resilience and hard work.
