The 16th Bangalore International Film Festival (BIFFES) commenced today, marking the beginning of an eight-day cinematic celebration that will continue until March 8. The inaugural ceremony, held in front of the grand steps of Vidhana Soudha, witnessed the presence of prominent personalities from the film industry and government.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the prestigious event, officially declaring the festival open. The ceremony was themed "Garden of Peace for All" symbolizing the festival’s commitment to fostering cultural harmony through cinema.

The event saw participation from Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Minister K.J. George, Speaker Basavaraja Horatti, and Kannada film industry veterans. Renowned actor Shivaraj Kumar, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy President Sadhu Kokila, along with office bearers of the Film Chamber and Producers' Association, graced the occasion. Several actors, filmmakers, and senior artists from the Kannada film fraternity were also in attendance.

BIFFES is known for showcasing a diverse selection of films from across the globe, bringing international and regional cinema to Bengaluru’s audience. Over the next few days, the festival will feature screenings, panel discussions, and interactive sessions with filmmakers.

With an exciting lineup ahead, the Bangalore International Film Festival promises to be a grand platform for celebrating the art of filmmaking and cultural exchange.
