The 82nd Golden Globe Awards dazzled Beverly Hills as Hollywood celebrated the finest in film and television from 2024. Hosted solo by comedian Nikki Glaser, marking a historic first for the event, the night delivered surprises, triumphs, and memorable moments.

The French musical crime comedy Emilia Perez emerged as a major winner, leading with ten nominations, including Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) and acting nods for Karla Sofia Gascón, Zoe Saldana, and Selena Gomez. The film secured four wins, including Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Supporting Actress (Zoe Saldana), Best Non-English Feature, and Best Original Song.
A24’s The Brutalist, directed by Brady Corbet, came in close with seven nominations and three major victories: Best Actor (Adrien Brody), Best Director (Brady Corbet), and Best Picture (Drama).
On television, FX’s Shogun achieved a clean sweep, winning all four categories it was nominated for, including Best Series, Best Actor, and both supporting acting awards. Meanwhile, FX’s The Bear and Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building also had strong showings, with Jeremy Allen White and Jean Smart taking acting honours in the comedy categories.
India's All We Imagine As Light narrowly missed making history. Despite double nominations, the Payal Kapadia-directed film lost Best Non-English Feature to Emilia Perez and failed to secure a spot for Best Director.
