The inferno at a mall in Rajkot that killed at least 30 people has sent shockwaves across the nation.
Keeping this in mind, Karnataka Dy CM DK Shivakumar has written a letter to the BBMP, asking its officials to take preventive measures to thwart such unfortunate incidents in Bengaluru.

Here are a few points of the letter written:
- Ensure safety measures are followed in places where it seething with people
- Give special attention to entertainment zones and malls
- All officials should be ever active to thwart such infernos
The Gujarat fire tragedy
On Saturday, a fire broke out at the TRP game zone in Nana-Mava locality of Rajkot. At that point, the casualties were 27 persons including children.
Today, the Gujarat High Court, while hearing a petition on the same, tore into the authorities for the tragedy. Meanwhile, the government ordered the suspension of five officials, holding them responsible the mess.
