This fresh confrontation follows closely on the heels of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, sparking widespread outrage and national protests. The security situation in the region remains tense, with authorities maintaining a high state of alert.
In a related development, the Army confirmed the killing of at least two terrorists on Wednesday during a foiled infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LOC) in Baramulla district. The intruders were attempting to cross into Indian territory when they were intercepted and neutralized by the forces.
These incidents underline the persistent threat posed by the cross-border terrorism and underscore the heightened vigilance of Indian security forces across the region. Further updates from the ongoing operation in Udhampur are awaited.
