‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ kicks off with bike rally

Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankar set a bike rally in motion that took off from Pragati Maidan in New Delhi and reached Major Dhyan Chand stadium moving through the India Gate and Karthavya path. The rally commenced at around 8 am on the morning of August 11th. Various Members of Parliament (MPs) and Union Ministers participated in the rally. G Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region, Anurag Thakur, Minister of Sports, Youth Affairs and Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare were some of the prominent figures that participated in the rally. Indian flags were carried by the participants which were waved along the way.

It is being reported that similar to last year, the “Har Ghar Tiranga”(Indian flag in every house) would be part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (the mega festival of independence). This would take place between 13th August to 15th August. 

India Post is taking up the initiative to sell National flags across all its 160,000 offices across the country. A statement pertaining to this was released by the Government of India.
