The Indian Cricket Team emerged victorious against Zimbabwe in the T-20 series by winning 4 of the 5 matches. Starting from June 27th, a series against Sri Lanka consisting of 3 T20s and 3 ODIs will be held. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a squad in this regard.

Indian batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from T20s after the ICC T20 World Cup. Rohit, Kohli and Indian bowler Bumrah had requested for rest ahead of team India’s trip to Sri Lanka. Indian coach Gambhir is reported to have mandated their presence in the series. He became the 2nd captain after Kohli to achieve victory in South Africa in 21 years.
