Hassan district is grappling with a disturbing rise in heart attack-related deaths, with the latest incident claiming the life of a 30-year-old man in Holenarasipur taluk. Sanju, a woodworker from Somanahalli village in Koppali, succumbed to a sudden heart attack on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, just three months after his marriage. The tragedy has left the local community in shock and raised concerns about the alarming frequency of such incidents.

According to reports, Sanju was attending a gathering with friends when he suddenly experienced severe chest pain. His friends rushed him to a nearby hospital, but despite their efforts, he could not be saved. Doctors confirmed that a massive heart attack was the cause of death. However, Sanju’s parents have expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding his death, urging authorities to investigate further.
This incident adds to the growing tally of heart attack fatalities in Hassan, with 22 deaths reported in the district over the past 40 days, sparking widespread concern among residents and health officials.
The Karnataka Health Department has taken note of the crisis, with a special committee formed to investigate the causes behind these sudden cardiac deaths, particularly among younger individuals. Experts point to lifestyle factors, stress, and possible environmental triggers as potential contributors.
