Zimbabwean all rounder Heath Streak, who was also the captain of the Zimbabwean team for a brief period and had then subsequently coached the Bangladesh Cricket team passed away on September 3rd after a long battle with cancer. 

“In the early hours of this morning, Sunday the 3rd of September 2023, the greatest love of my life and the father of my beautiful children, was carried to be with the angels from his home where he wished to spend his last days surrounded by his family and closest loved ones. He was covered in love and peace and did not walk off the park alone. Our souls are joined for eternity Streaky. Till I hold you again,” Nadine Streak, wife of late Heath Streak had confirmed through a post on Facebook. 

A few weeks back, unverified claims concerning the death of the legendary all rounder had been making rounds on social media, which was even picked up by many Zimbabwean cricketers and media outlets. 

Henry Olonga who had shared a condolence message had then clarified that the news was not true and had even shared a screenshot of a Whatsapp interaction he had with the cricketing star that confirmed the same.
