Following intense rainfall in Bengaluru, several low-lying areas, including Sai Layout, experienced severe waterlogging and flooding. In response to the damage, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, and other senior ministers and officials visited the affected areas today.

During the inspection, angry residents of Sai Layout voiced their frustration directly at the leaders. Local women urged the CM to visit flooded homes instead of observing the situation from afar, demanding firsthand understanding of their suffering. The Chief Minister, after inspecting a major stormwater drain in the area, was briefed by officials about the ongoing drainage issues. As tensions rose, he engaged with the agitated crowd who explained that such flooding happens every monsoon without any long-term solution.
Deputy CM Shivakumar and Minister KJ George also interacted with residents, while BBMP officials attempted to calm the crowd. However, as the protests intensified, the visiting leaders prepared to leave. The CM instructed officials to arrange a bus immediately. As they got ready to depart, some local women tried to stop them, accusing them of ignoring their hardships. Police intervened and set up barricades to allow the officials to exit safely.
