The districts most affected include Uttar Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Bidar, and Kalaburagi. The meteorological department has specifically issued an Orange Alert for these areas, warning of the possibility of intense rainfall and strong winds. Authorities have advised residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru will experience a reduction in the intensity of rainfall, with lighter showers expected in the coming days. Despite this, the city should remain vigilant for occasional thunderstorms, especially in the late afternoon and evening hours.
The rainfall is expected to be heavy due to a low-pressure area forming over the Arabian Sea, influencing the weather patterns in the coastal and southern regions of the state. The department also mentioned the likelihood of flash floods in some areas due to the intense downpour.
Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and be cautious around water bodies. The state disaster management authority has urged people in affected districts to stay informed through official updates.
