Overnight heavy rains have plunged the city into chaos, flooding several low-lying areas and residential complexes. Roads, underpasses, and apartments are submerged, leaving residents stranded and sleepless.

The torrential rain began late at night and continued without pause, overwhelming drainage systems. Areas such as Corporation, Majestic, Chamarajpet, Shivajinagar, K.R. Market, Hebbal, Vijayanagar, and Koramangala bore the brunt. In Bhubaneswari Nagar and near Kothanur and Hennur Cross, houses were inundated, with residents wading through waist-deep water. Groceries and household essentials have been damaged, and drainage blockages have worsened the situation.

Commuters faced significant challenges, particularly near the Hongasandra Metro station on Hosur Road, where waterlogging disrupted vehicle movement. The Nayandahalli underpass resembled a canal, with BMTC buses stuck mid-route. Overflowing rajakaluves in Koramangala and clogged culverts across the city spilled garbage onto roads and into homes, causing health concerns.

Frustrated citizens criticized the BBMP for reactive measures, citing the lack of a permanent solution to recurring flooding. Despite repeated complaints, stormwater drains remain poorly maintained.

Residents across localities including Malleshwaram, R.T. Nagar, Peenya, Kamakshipalya, and Jayanagar expressed anger and helplessness, calling for immediate civic action. As the city struggles to recover, the forecast warns of continued rainfall, raising fears of further disruption.
