Advertisment
  • Hebbal flyover closed nightly from May 17 to 21, between 12 AM and 3 AM
  • Closure due to girder installation work as part of flyover ramp expansion
  • Alternative route via Tumkur Road and New BEL Road advised for Mekhri Circle-bound traffic

Bengaluru commuters, take note: the Hebbal flyover heading from KR Puram towards Mekhri Circle will remain closed for five consecutive nights, starting today, due to critical infrastructure work. The closure is to facilitate the installation of an additional ramp and heavy steel girders as part of a larger flyover upgrade project.

From May 17 to May 21, the flyover will be completely shut between 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM each night. During these hours, all types of vehicles will be prohibited from using the stretch between Esteem Mall and Mekhri Circle. The key task during this period involves placing seven steel girders, each 33.5 meters long, over the railway tracks near the flyover.

Authorities have urged motorists traveling from the airport side towards Mekhri Circle to use the designated alternative routes during the work hours. To ease the flow of traffic and avoid congestion, a specific diversion plan has been put in place.

Alternative Route Details:

  • Vehicles should enter the service road near Esteem Mall.
  • Take a right at the Hebbal junction towards the outer ring road.
  • Continue along Tumkur Road.
  • Turn left at Kuvempu Circle.
  • Proceed via New BEL Road to reach Mekhri Circle.

The Bangalore traffic police have advised citizens to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with the temporary restrictions. Traffic personnel will be deployed to assist with guidance and enforcement during the closure hours.
