Modi is set to take the oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term on June 9th. Along with his swearing in ceremony, the curiosity with regard to who would be given cabinet ministers has grasped Indians. Speculations about the names that will be considered are being made. 

An invitation was given to the Prime Minister’s residence to many leaders whose names are making rounds. 5 Members of Parliament (MPs) from Karnataka were also extended invitations. Among those who won in the recently concluded 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, the former Chief Minister from the Janata Dal (Secular) H.D Kumarasamy, Pralhad Joshi who served as the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affair, Coal and Mines of India in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in 2019, Shobha Karandlaje who served as the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister of State for Food Processing Industries in the 2019 NDA government and V.Somanna from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who won with a margin of 175594 votes in Tumkur were present in the meeting. There are strong indications that he would be given a ministry in the NDA government.

Nirmala Sitharaman who served as the Finance Minister of India was also present in the meeting. She is a Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka. There is a possibility of Nirmala being a ministry despite widespread criticism of her performance.
