Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has weighed in on the work-life balance debate, emphasizing that balance is achieved when individuals engage in activities they enjoy. Speaking with news agency IANS, Adani explained that life becomes simpler when one accepts their own mortality, allowing them to focus on what truly matters.

Adani argued that work-life balance is subjective, stating that it should not be imposed on others. He pointed out that some people may find joy in spending four hours with their family, while others might need eight hours to feel the same. "Your work-life balance should not be imposed on me, and my work-life balance shouldn't be imposed on you," he said. He humorously added, "If you spend eight hours, biwi bhaag jayegi (your wife will run away)."
He further noted that the key to work-life balance is happiness, both for oneself and for loved ones. For him, family and work are intertwined, with no separate world beyond these two. "Our children also notice that only and take note of it," he said. Adani concluded that once people understand the transient nature of life, it becomes simpler, allowing them to focus on what truly brings them joy.
