A major highlight was the US administration's approval of the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, a long-standing Indian demand.
Defence cooperation received a boost with Trump announcing plans to supply India with fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets, though officials clarified the deal remains at the proposal stage. Additional agreements on Javelin anti-tank missiles and Stryker combat vehicles were also discussed.
PM Modi introduced the idea of “MIGA” (Make India Great Again), aligning it with Trump's “MAGA” to emphasize a strong economic partnership. On geopolitical matters, Modi underscored India’s commitment to peace while Trump offered to mediate the India-China border dispute.
Both leaders also launched the ‘TRUST’ initiative to enhance cooperation in defence, AI, semiconductors, and space, signaling a deepening strategic partnership.
