Here’s a look at the Sonal Monterio's journey in films and association with Tharun Sudhir

Sandalwood director Tharun Sudhir made an announcement pertaining to his marriage on 22nd June. He is getting married to actress Sonal Monterio. Tharun is the second son of famous actor D. Sudhir. He gained prominence as a child artist in his younger days. He has acted in several films. He later donned the director’s hat. A unique pre-wedding shoot was broadcast on social media to announce the date of the marriage. 

Sonal is a native of Mangaluru city. She made her first appearance on the big screen through her performance in Tulu films. Her debut was in the Tulu film titled ‘Ekka Saka’ which released in 2015. She has also acted in ‘Jai Tulunadu’ and ‘Pilibail Yamunakka.’ Her first film in the Sandalwood film industry was ‘Abhisarike’ which was released in 2018. She also acted in ‘MLA’ alongside Olle Huduga Pratham in the same year. She played the lead role in ‘Maduve Dibbanna.’ She acted in Yogaraj Bhat’s directorial ‘Panchatantra’ in 2019.

Her first collaboration with Tharun Sudhir was in the Darshan starrer ‘Roberrt’ that released in 2021. She appeared alongside Vinod Prabhakr in ‘Roberrt.’ The bond between Tharun and Sonal grew stronger on the sets of ‘Robbert’ and that eventually transformed into love. Sonal is also reported to have entered Darshan’s close circles after ‘Robbert.’ She was later seen in ‘Garadi.’ The producer and lead actor of ‘Garadi’, B.C Patil and Yashas Suya are both known to be close aides of Darshan. Her upcoming films include ‘Buddhivantha:2’ starring Upendra and ‘Margaret Love of Ramachari.’
