A partial lunar eclipse will take place tonight, starting at 11: 30 pm, till 3: 55 the next morning. 

The Nehru Planetarium in Bengaluru is all set to host skygazers to watch the spectacle.  

Anand, senior scientist, Nehru planetarium, spoke to NewFirst Prime, educating us on the preparations at the planetarium.  

He said, “The partial lunar eclipse will start at 11: 30 in the night and go on till 3: 55 am. We are ready to host enthusiasts in order to view the spectacle. However, viewing doesn't require any special tools.” 

He also added that people can watch the eclipse from their rooftops. 

Here is a list of myths related to lunar eclipse that we need to bust

-Having food and water during the eclipse may lead to digestive issues. 

-Lunar eclipse affects us negatively, leading to mental stress. 

-Assiduous work during the eclipse can lead to health issues and even accidents. 

-Food and water left during the eclipse can become contaminated or harmful to consume. 

What is a lunar eclipse? 

A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth comes between the moon and the sun and its shadow falls on the moon’s surface. 

Several temples in the country will remain shut leading to the eclipse.
