In anticipation of the upcoming New Year celebrations, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has issued a comprehensive set of directives to ensure public safety and well-being during the festive period. Following discussions with the Home Minister, the BBMP has taken a proactive approach to implement precautionary measures suggested by the minister.

The BBMP's order, applicable to Zonal Commissioners, Joint Commissioners, and Engineers, outlines a series of strategic steps to be taken. Special emphasis has been placed on health and safety, with the establishment of temporary health centers at locations where large gatherings are expected. Ambulances will be strategically deployed at key celebration sites to facilitate swift medical assistance if needed.

To enhance overall safety, the BBMP has mandated the maintenance of street lights along routes frequented by revelers and in areas of congregation. Reflective stickers will be affixed to signboards, and measures will be taken to address potholes and ensure visibility of road humps for drivers. Notably, popular celebration hubs such as MG Road, Brigade Road, Cubbon Park, and several other locations will witness the installation of barricades for effective crowd control.

The BBMP's meticulous planning and implementation of these measures underscore a commitment to fostering a secure and enjoyable environment for residents and visitors as they usher in the New Year.
