Darshan and Prem collaborated together for ‘Kariya’

The arrest of Sandalwood actor Darshan over suspicion of involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy had shocked the entire state of Karnataka. Renukaswamy had apparently sent obscene messages to actress Pavithra Gowda. This triggered a sequence of events that eventually resulted in his death. 

17 suspects are currently behind bars in relation to this case. 4 of the accused were shifted to the Tumakuru jail. 13 of them are in the Parappana Agrahara prison. Sandalwood actress Rakshitha Prem and her husband Prem visited Accused Number 2 Darshan at the Parappana Agrahara prison. 

Director Prem who is renowned for ‘Jogi’ spoke with reporters after his interaction with Darshan. “Darshan is our close friend. The case is being dealt with legally. It would hence not be apt to talk about the case at this juncture. May Renukaswamy’s soul attain peace. Nobody is above the law. Darshan seemed normal when we spoke to him in jail. It is difficult to maintain composure in such testing times,” he said.

Darshan and Prem had collaborated together for ‘Kariya’ in 2003. The film was deemed to be a blockbuster and finished more than 100 days of theatrical run.
