In the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Karnataka state government has declared a high alert and ramped up security measures across sensitive regions, particularly coastal and border areas.

Pakistan's provocative firing along the border, reportedly in retaliation to India's recent "Operation Sindoor" strike, has heightened national security concerns. Following a missile attack from across the border, the Centre has issued a high-alert advisory to all states, prompting swift action at the state level.

State Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar addressed the situation on Friday, stating that no police personnel in Karnataka will be granted leave due to the sensitive circumstances. "No additional leave is being sanctioned for anyone in the police force. A war-like situation has already emerged, and we cannot predict when normalcy will return," he said.

Security arrangements have been significantly intensified in key areas, especially in Mangaluru and Karwar in Uttara Kannada district. Both regions are under tight surveillance, with coordinated efforts between the police and Indian Navy to ensure public safety.

The minister emphasized that precautionary measures will remain in force as long as the threat persists. "The Centre has already alerted us, and we are fully prepared. There will be no compromise on security,” Parameshwar added.

The state remains vigilant, with authorities closely monitoring developments along the India-Pakistan border.
