In the wake of the tragic stampede-like incident during a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fan event in Bengaluru, Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi addressed the media in Chikkamagaluru, calling for a thorough investigation and emphasizing that responsibility will be fixed based on the inquiry report.

Speaking about the confusion surrounding permissions for the event, Jarkiholi said, “This incident should not have happened, but it did. There’s a lot of confusion—who gave the permission? Was it the government, the police, or someone else? A full investigation must be conducted to clear this.”
He also indirectly addressed Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who was seen holding the RCB flag and participating in the event. “That was his personal choice,” Jarkiholi remarked, distancing the government from the optics of the event.
Responding to BJP's demand for a judicial probe, Jarkiholi said, “Let one report come out. After that, if necessary, further steps can be taken. Even they will have a chance to respond then.”
Commenting on calls for Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s suspension, he said that the Chief Minister has sought a report and the matter may be discussed in the cabinet. “If the report finds no fault, there are still ways forward,” he added.
He concluded by stating the inquiry report is expected within a month.
