Bengaluru residents will soon have a convenient way to access fresh fruits and vegetables as Hopcoms prepares to roll out a WhatsApp-based ordering system. The initiative, set to launch next week, will initially be piloted in select apartment complexes before expanding across the city.

The new platform is designed to streamline the delivery of farm-fresh produce while addressing significant wastage concerns. Currently, nearly 30% of fruits and vegetables at Hopcoms outlets go unsold daily, leading to substantial losses. By enabling direct-to-home deliveries, the service aims to optimize sales and minimize waste.
Customers will be able to register using a QR code, granting them access to a digital catalog featuring available produce, pricing, and discounts. Orders placed through WhatsApp will be delivered within 24 hours, with payment options including both online transactions and cash on delivery.
Hopcoms has identified over 200 apartment complexes in Bengaluru as potential partners and has initiated discussions with resident welfare associations. So far, 50 apartment federations have expressed interest in the collaboration.
If successful, this model could revolutionize fresh produce distribution in Bengaluru, offering residents a hassle-free shopping experience while supporting local farmers and reducing spoilage. The initiative aligns with the growing trend of digital commerce and doorstep delivery services in urban areas, catering to the increasing demand for convenience and quality in grocery shopping.
