Hotels in Navi Mumbai skyrocket prices ahead of Coldplay Concert, rooms selling for nearly ₹5 lakh

Hotels near DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai have significantly raised room rates for the nights of January 18, 19, and 21, coinciding with British rock band Coldplay’s much-anticipated India tour.

With hotels within a 20-kilometer radius fully booked, some are charging as much as ₹5 lakh for a three-night stay, far surpassing even New Year’s Eve prices, according to data from hotel booking platforms.

Five-star properties like Courtyard by Marriott and Taj Vivanta in Vashi have reported no availability, as per MakeMyTrip, reflecting the overwhelming demand for accommodations near the venue. Coldplay’s first two shows sold out within minutes, prompting the band to announce a third concert on January 21, which further fueled hotel bookings.

One example of the price surge is Fortune Select Exotica in Vashi, which is charging ₹2.45 lakh for three nights for a room that accommodates three guests. Fern Residency in Turbhe is asking close to ₹2 lakh for a double room during the same period.

In comparison, luxury hotels such as Taj Lands End in Bandra are charging significantly lower prices—around ₹34,000 for a night on January 17, with New Year’s Eve rates hovering at ₹32,000 per night.

Coldplay, a British Rock Band formed in 1997, is known for its electrifying live performances and has drawn a massive following worldwide, making their Mumbai concerts highly sought-after events.
