With his accomplishments, Virat is on top of the world

He is chasing his 50th ODI ton

India face NZ in the semifinal on November 15

Virat Kohli is in seventh heaven, all thanks to his phenomenal run in the ongoing Cricket World Cup. He is on the cusp of plundering his 50th ODI ton to become the first batsman to achieve this feat.

While he is having a dream run, he did have a lean patch from 2020 to 2022. At this point in time, he suffered diffidence in his life.

Well, this information was revealed by none other than former Indian cricket coach Ravi Shastri. He said that Kohli learnt to ‘bury his ego’ during the period and learnt that life could be hard and things would not go as per one’s wish.

It is also pertinent to know that Kohli had dismissed thoughts that he would resort to prayers and the like to keep himself cool. Several years ago, when a reporter had asked him just before a  match against Australia in a T20 encounter, he had said,  “Do I look the pooja-path types? (Do I look like I do prayers and worship?)?”

From a confident person who would question you about prayers and the like and Shastri’s revelation that he learnt to bury his ego shows the long and diametrically opposite behaviours of Kohli. At the same time, it also shows his maturity.
