Operating under aliases like Navyashree, Gowda posed as the younger sister of Congress leader DK Suresh to gain trust and credibility. In her schemes, she was ably assisted by actor Dharmendra, who impersonated DK Suresh’s voice to convince and trap unsuspecting victims. Her history includes similar offenses in Mandya, often resolving cases at the brink of FIR filing.
Upon moving to Bengaluru, she adopted an extravagant lifestyle, sporting expensive jewellery, living in luxurious homes, and traveling in high-end cars. In her pursuit of a high-profile image, she even organized an Annamma Devi festival, spending crores and inviting former minister Vinay Kulkarni. Her lavish lifestyle served as a cover for her criminal activities, which ensnared many victims.
Gowda’s downfall came when she attempted to con jewellery store owner Vanita. Claiming to be DK Suresh's younger sister, she was exposed when Vanita approached him directly. Denying any connection, Suresh advised Vanita to take legal action, leading to Gowda’s arrest.
Authorities are investigating her criminal network, with more revelations expected as the case unfolds. Her arrest underscores the necessity for vigilance against sophisticated fraud schemes.
