Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa who was also known by the title of Challenging Star is currently under police custody. Darshan, actress Pavithra Gowda and 12 others will have to face a police enquiry. They spent the night of 11th June in the lockup of the Annapoorneshwari Police Station. He’s being accused of having a role in the murder of Renukaswamy hailing from Chitradurga. 

The 14 accused in the case were produced in front of a court by the police. The court has granted the police custody of the suspects for a period of 6 days. Darshan, Vinay and Raghavendra were in a single cell. Pavithra was taken to a centre meant for women at 10 PM. She would have to make daily trips to aid the investigation of the police. She would be taken back to the centre at 10 PM.

The police are reported to have been treating them with commendable hospitality. They are said to have been provided with Donne Biryani on 11th June. This was before the interrogation commenced. 

The police are also in the process of collecting evidence. The spot from which Renukaswamy was kidnapped and the spot wherein he was tortured are being surveyed. The suspects are being taken along with the police to the area wherein his body was dumped.
