India maintains a significant edge over Pakistan in terms of military strength, both in manpower and defense capabilities, according to the latest comparative data.

India’s armed forces consist of 14.8 lakh active personnel, including 12.3 lakh in the Army, 1.4 lakh in the Air Force, and 68,000 in the Navy. Additionally, India boasts 13 lakh paramilitary forces, taking the total strength of its armed and auxiliary forces to over 40 lakh. In contrast, Pakistan’s total military strength stands at around 12 lakh.
On the ground, India possesses 3,500 battle tanks, outnumbering Pakistan’s 2,500. In the air, India fields 606 warplanes, including 272 Sukhoi-30s, 30 French-made Rafale jets, and 120 Tejas helicopters. Pakistan’s air fleet consists of 387 warplanes, mainly comprising Chinese-origin JF-17s and American F-16s.
In terms of air defense, India has acquired the advanced S-400 Triumph missile system from Russia, with a strike range of 400 km. Pakistan’s counterpart, the HQ-9B, has a shorter range of 250 km.
India’s naval strength is also superior, with over 150 warships, compared to Pakistan’s smaller fleet. In nuclear capability, India holds 172 nuclear warheads, while Pakistan trails slightly with 170.
Overall, India remains considerably stronger across land, air, sea, and nuclear dimensions, positioning itself as the dominant military power in the region.
