  • Powerplay brought 3 wickets to Hubli Tigers
  • Hubli Tigers reached the target with 20 balls to spare

The first half of the group stages of the Maharaja T20 trophy 2023 has almost come to an end with all teams having faced each other at least once except for Gulbarga Mystics taking on Mangalore Dragons taking on Gulbarga Mystics. This fixture is scheduled for the evening of 20th August.

Hubli Tigers have faced all their opponents once in the tournament and have so far not tasted defeat. They had a face off with Shivamogga Lions on August 19th. Hubli Tigers won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision proved to bring instantaneous rewards with the powerplay bringing 3 wickets to the bowling side. Pranav Bhatia’s flurry in the middle order with a 30-ball 46 helped the innings gain some stability but with a target of 139, Hubli Tigers were comfortably home with 20 balls to spare on the back of 46-ball 69 by the opening batsman Luvnith Sisodia.

The home team Bengaluru Blasters have not been able to find the right balance having lost all their 5 matches, the latest one being against Mysuru Warriors on August 19th. Having to chase a target of 186, the early loss of wickets was a setback. The run cut the match short by 9 overs but the Mysore Warriors ended up winning by 33 runs on the basis of the V Jayadesan system.

Hubli Tigers will take on the Mysore Warriors on August 20th.
