  • Hyderabad has a centrally controlled mechanism for navigating natural calamities
  • K Chandrasekhar Rao inaugurated the Hyderabad ICCC in August 2022
  • Rs 500 crore have been spent to develop the facility

The Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Hyderabad had added 5 lakh cameras, a helipad and a real-time traffic monitoring system to its apparatus. This was inaugurated by the home minister of Telangana, Mahmood Ali. This equips the city to have a centrally controlled mechanism in case a natural calamity strikes. A weather- monitoring apparatus has also been installed for this purpose. It is being appraised as the most sophisticated ICCC across the country.

This also aids in developing the traffic monitoring which is much needed for the city of Hyderabad owing to the narrow roads and lack of lane-wise division.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao inaugurated the Hyderabad ICCC in August 2022.

Rs 500 crore have been spent to develop the facility.

The centre has 5 blocks. The Command and Control Centre is located on Tower E between the 4th and 7th floor. Tower A and Tower B have 20 and 19 storeys respectively.

Bengaluru’s ICCC was inaugurated in October 2022 at the cost of Rs 96 crore. Fourteen departments including the BBMP, BWSSB, BMTC, Metro, police, Bescom, pollution control board, health, KSRTC and transport are part of the apparatus.
