Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is on cloud nine over the engagement of his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap. He took to Instagram to react to this development. “Ranjan Singh is pissed off saying, ‘yahan to phone chhod do (leave your phone here) unaware that I am calculating the number of remakes I will have to do to throw a wedding soirée, because my dearest Aaliya Kashyap and her beau, my lovely Shane Gregoire threw a total curveball at us in the middle of our Cannes Festival journey of Kennedy by announcing their engagement,” he stated in one his posts.

Anurag Kashyap and his daughter recently appeared on the Young Dumb and Anxious podcast. Aaliyah responded to Anurag’s comment that the budget for the wedding would be equivalent to that he has for a movie. “It’s okay. I am your only daughter. I feel like you can make an exception. You are lucky you don’t have more children so you don’t have to do this again and again. I am your only child so it’s one and done. So it’s fine. It’s a once in a lifetime thing,” Aaliyah said. Anurag remarked that although he was happy for the couple, the decision made him think about how much has changed across generations.
