When asked about Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah’s statement regarding the country’s muslims having a stake in the nation’s treasury, former Member of the Parliament from the Indian National Congress B.K Hariprasad gave a puzzling response. “Siddaramaiah has a lot of experience in this regard. He is well informed on such things. It is better to ask him this question. I cannot answer this question. I am not his spokesperson,” he said.
He did however clarify that he is not attempting to oppose him in any way. A discontentment was however visible in his tone.
On December 4th, in a convention of a South Indian Muslim preacher in Hubballi, Siddaramaiah made a grant to the Peer Basha Dargah. Rs 4000 crore has already been donated to minority districts across the state. He also stated his intention to increase this amount gradually by Rs 10,000 crore. It is in this regard that he made the statement. He also highlighted the significance of education in the community and stated that it must be expanded beyond measures to improve literacy.
B.K Hariprasad also made a reference to being backstabbed by those whom he considered his friends in the Legislative Council.
