INDIA alliance meeting is likely to be held in Delhi

NCP(SP) is leading in 7 constituencies

I spoke to Mallikarjun Kharge: Pawar

One of the most interesting trends emerging from the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections is the dominance of the Maha Vikas Agadi (MVA) in the election in Maharashtra. Particularly the likely victory of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) (NCP(SP) in 7 seats despite the split with the faction led by his nephew Ajit Pawar would be an encouraging sign for the MVA with the Vidhana Sabha elections scheduled to take place later in the year. “I spoke to Mallikarjun Kharge and Sitaram Yechury. The INDIA alliance meeting is likely to be held in Delhi tomorrow. The final decision is expected to be taken by this evening. Accordingly, I will be in Delhi,” former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sharad Pawar said.

Sharad Pawar was asked about who would possibly be the Prime Ministerial candidate in the upcoming term. “We have not given it a thought. I am not sure if the INDIA alliance can form the government. We will meet tomorrow and take a decision unanimously on the future course of action,” Sharad replied.

In light of the results, the 400 paar slogan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can be assumed to have not aged well. “When they started with ‘400 paar’, people started suspecting that they were going to change the Constitution. The entire country was angry at their attempts to change the Constitution. I am happy that Sharad Pawar, at the age of 84, proved that he is the centre point of Maharashtra’s politics,” NCP SP leader Jitendra Awhad said in an interaction with reporters.
