Indian batsman Abhishek Sharma has had a flying start to career with a 46-ball 100 in his very second T-20 International. Abhishek Sharma had gotten out to a 4-ball 0 in his T-20 International debut against Zimbabwe in a game which India lost by 13 runs. He however changed his fortune on the very next day. With India having lost Captain Shubman Gill in the very second over, Indian batsman Rituraj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma steadied the ship throughout the powerplay. Abhishek Sharma however cut loose soon afterwards. He hit 3 consecutive sixes to get to his century after which he celebrated by donning a red skullcap. India eventually registered a total of 234 at the end of 20 overs and won the game by 100 runs.

In a video released by the BCCI, Abhishek Sharma can be seen talking to former Indian all round Yuvraj Singh who mentored him. “I spoke to him yesterday as well. I don't know why but he was very happy when I got out for 0. He was like, 'That's a good start', but I think he must be feeling very proud, just like my family. It's all because of him. The hard work he has put in me for years. He has been working really hard on everything; I wouldn't say it's just on cricket. Off the field as well,” Abhishek said.
