‘I was merely returning borrowed cash to Darshan’; Ex Mayor Mohan Raj records statement in front of police

The investigation pertaining to the murder of Renukaswamy has intensified. A Former Deputy Mayor is believed to have provided Rs 40 lakh to Darshan. Former Deputy Mayor Mohan Raj was served a notice by the police after which he appeared in front of them. A close aide of actress Pavithra Gowda has also been served a notice. 

17 suspects are already behind bars as the court granted judicial custody of the accused to the police. The police are also on the lookout for others who had a possible role in aiding the crime. Mohan Raj is on the radar of the police amongst others. The money provided to Darshan is said to have been used for the destruction of evidence. “I was asked questions about the cash. I have provided answers. I had borrowed cash from Darshan 3 months back. I merely returned the cash. I have submitted my side of the story in written format. It wasn’t borrowed for the production of films. It was borrowed for personal reasons. It was his money that I returned to him,” Mohanraj said.

Samatha, Pavithra’s aide supposedly provided money to Dhanraj who is also a suspect in the case. Rs 30,000 was apparently paid through PhonePe. The producer of Devil, Prakash has also been summoned by the police. 

The car driver of a prominent legislator in Bengaluru named Karthik Purohit has been summoned by the police. Karthik was a close aide of Pradoosh who is an accused in the case. Karthik is currently absconding fearing arrest.
