Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has once again made it clear that he will remain in the post for the full five-year term, dismissing speculation about a leadership change as baseless. Speaking from Delhi, Siddaramaiah reiterated his earlier stand, saying, “I will be the Chief Minister for five years,” and denied any ongoing discussions regarding a change in leadership.

Currently in Delhi, Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar are expected to meet Rahul Gandhi. However, sources say the meeting is not related to any power transition. While a few MLAs have reportedly shared their opinions, Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala has not posed any questions about leadership change, according to party insiders.

Though Siddaramaiah acknowledged that D.K. Shivakumar does have some support among legislators, he also pointed out that the Deputy CM lacks majority backing. This statement further strengthens the impression that talk of replacing the CM is little more than political gossip. The Karnataka CM made the observations as he spoike to India Today.
