India will take on Australia in a 5-match test series starting from November and extending all the way up to January. The Border Gavaskar series will be held down under.
The memories pertaining to India’s previous tour of Australia will still be fresh in the memories of any cricketing fan. Australia was led by wicketkeeper Tim Paine who is known for using sledging as a technique to distract batsmen. “People used to say, don't sledge Virat. If you don't sledge Virat... most of the time he still gets runs, so it doesn't really matter whether you're talking to him or not. I wouldn't try too much to fire up Virat, but I would try and distract him if I could because if you can get a bit of a distraction, he might play a bad shot or lose his concentration. But it used to annoy me when people say, oh, don't sledge him, because people don't get better because someone's talking to them,” Paine said in an interaction with CricTracker.
During India’s tour down under in 2020-21, Paine told Indian spinner Ashwin “See you at Gabba" when it was apparent that the Sydney test was headed for a draw. India’s victory at the Gabba stadium for the first time since 1988 however not only ensured India lifted the trophy in the most unlikely of circumstances but also ensured that Paine was left red faced in the final stages of his career.
