  • Darshan addressed a gathering in Bandur
  • He responded to criticisms that Kannada actors don't participate in protests
  • Shiva Rajkumar also released a statement on the issue

Sandalwood star Darshan made his presence felt in the Kaveri agitation that is taking place in Karnataka. He addressed a gathering in an event organised by the Ganga Sene and the Karnataka State Farmers Association in the Bandur village in Karnataka. Darshan responded to the general criticism that Kannada actors do not participate in protests which are in the interest of those in the state.

“There was a Tamil film which dealers procured for Rs 6 crore. That film made a collection of Rs 37 crore at the box office. Is it just the Tamilians who saw the film? Now would any of them join the agitation? Why don’t you show a similar support to Kannada films? If Kannada artists have to voice out support for Kaveri, Kannada films have to do well in the box office. It’s always Darshan, Sudeep, Shiva Rajkumar and Yash who are the stars that are questioned. Why can’t you ask them these questions?” he asked.
