Indie-pop band Cigarettes After Sex left fans disappointed after canceling their Bengaluru concert just hours before it was scheduled to take place at the Bhartiya Mall on Tuesday. The band cited "local production issues" as the reason for the last-minute decision, which they described as being beyond their control.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the band expressed regret, saying, “We’re heartbroken to announce that due to technical difficulties which were the responsibility of local production at the venue & beyond our control, we’re unable to perform & unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show in Bengaluru. We’re so incredibly sorry we can’t see you all tonight & truly tried everything we could to make it happen.”

The cancellation sparked frustration among fans who had already gathered at the venue. The band assured concertgoers that ticketing platform BookMyShow would process refunds. “BookMyShow will reach out to you with information on refunds for the show as well. Love you so much…” the statement added.

The incident has raised concerns about Bengaluru’s ability to host large-scale concerts. A fan commented on social media, “Shift the venue to Ahmedabad. You can do it the best way possible.” Others criticized BookMyShow for failing to notify attendees promptly.

The last-minute decision has left fans questioning the city’s preparedness for such international events.
