The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is set to enter undergraduate education with the launch of two four-year residential degree programmes in August 2026. These include a BSc (Hons) in Economics and a BSc (Hons) in Data Science. The courses will be offered at IIMB’s new Jigani campus under the recently established School of Multidisciplinary Studies.

Each programme will offer optional minors in complementary disciplines and Business, promoting a broad-based curriculum aligned with the National Education Policy. Admissions for the first cohort of 80 students—40 in each programme—will commence in September 2025. IIMB anticipates expanding the intake to 640 students by 2031, supported by gradual infrastructure development.
A faculty team of 15, comprising both new recruits and existing members, will lead the teaching efforts. This move represents a strategic shift for IIMB, which has traditionally focused on postgraduate, doctoral, and executive education.
The curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, combining economics, data science, communication, ethics, and philosophy with experiential learning through internships and international exchange. A three-year exit option will also be available.
Eligibility criteria include 60% in Class XII Mathematics and a similar overall score in Class X. Admissions will be through a national entrance exam and personal interview. Age limits are set at 20 for general and 22 for reserved category applicants.
Annual fees are pegged at ₹8.5 lakh, with financial aid provisions to ensure accessibility. Future undergraduate offerings will include programmes in Sustainability and Behavioural Sciences.
